I enjoy working on piccolos. After I've worked on an instrument, It's not unusual for it to sound and respond better than when it was brand new.
Sellers of commercial instruments aren't able to put individual time into each piccolo or flute at the padding and adjustment stage. I can and do, and it makes a world of difference.
